About Us
Your Hosts, Marlene & Michael
Originally part of an old banana farm, and set on 16 acres of subtropical bushland, Kallora Country Retreat homestead was specifically built as a boutique guest lodge and breakfast inn, with the privacy and comfort of guests in mind.
Your hosts Marlene and Michael Verner, have been in the hospitality industry since 1974.
Renowned for its quality and consistency
of the food and service standards, local Gold Coast institution, "The Holy Mackerel" won the Gold Coast Restaurant & Caterers
award for best informal dining restaurant in
2000, and was a favorite
for countless locals and Gold Coast visitors alike over the years.
Closing in April 2009, Marlene and Michael now bring the expertise and hospitality "The Mack" offered, to your Kallora Country Retreat experience.
Kallora Farm Bed and Breakfast holds an RACQ AAA Tourism 
star rating for Bed and Breakfast - Traditional, and also has a AAA Eco-Friendly
Green Star rating.
